The annual Sardine Run attracts thousands of Common Dolphins and as many water sport tourists to South Africa. The biggest Marine Migration on the Planet is happening right here in front of our doorstep in our warm waters of the Indian Ocean.
Common Dolphins heard the Sardines together forming Baitballs feeding on them. The enormous speed in which the swim along the coast is difficult to capture and the elegance is undoubtful present in any of their movements underwater! These animals swim so fast that the air bubbles extracted from the water behind them is visible.
The West and East Coast of South Africa will soon faces seismic offshore testing which may affect direct or indirect the behaviour or be live threatening to some species. Pictures alike should be possible for future generations, but only if we take care of our Oceans!
