The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is a magical place. Being a semi-desert, the dry, dusty landscape presents photographers with ample opportunities to play with light. On a morning drive in the remote northern part of the South African side of the park, I came across a pride of lions, including this handsome fellow. He accompanied three lionesses who stood up and walked over a dune with purpose, presumably to hunt. The male lagged behind and got up just as the light hit the sweet spot.
