Namibia is a particularly beautiful country with harsh landscapes, towering mountains, deserts & savannahs. It is also an exceptionally dry country which tests the hardiest of people who live off the land. However, when it rains, it produces a phenomenon where a 700 hectare lake and a million lilies (Crinum Paludosum) suddenly appear in the remotest, semi-desert area near the small town of Maltahöhe. The phenomenon lasted for only a week in March 2020, producing a once-in-a-lifetime sighting & the fragrance of a million lilies at dawn will linger for a long time.
