One rarely gets the opportunity to capture these tiny pollinators at work, so I was very pleased to get this close-up of this Sweat bee (Halictidae) of about 7mm busy collecting pollen from an Agapanthus flower. These are just one of the many species of bees and insects that play a critical role as pollinators, and are under threat of extinction. I surely hope they can be saved, as they are more precious than gold.
