A pride of lions is taking a nap on the side of one of the main roads near Nossob campsite, in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in South Africa. All gathered under the shade of a tree, a youngster yawns whilst looking straight at me. A last effort before joining its family for a long sleep.
Lions are mainly active at night when they hunt. The warmest hours of the day are almost exclusively dedicated to only one activity: sleeping.
