Photographing a Finfoot calls for desperate measures. Armed with my camouflage netting and a beanbag, I made myself at home on the edge of the Magalies River. Flat on my stomach under the netting, I hid away and waited for this skulking bird to make its way towards me. After two hours of waiting in this position, the bird appeared around the corner and made its way downstream. The beautiful male bird cruised along the overhanging vegetation.
