Oceanic black tip shark lunges for a sardine at the surface, their movements are fast and create a lot of bubbles and turbulence in the water making them very difficult to photograph without a lot of “scatter” in the image. These sharks are visitors to Aliwal Shoal who have never left. unfortunately their numbers are dwindling quickly do to over fishing and shark trade. These animals need more protection and to many laws are written to “throttle” the dive industry but very few are put in place to control the consumptive sports and commercial enterprises like fishing.
