It was a very windy, grey and gloomy day on my last morning drive in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi, South Africa. We had just stopped alongside an undulating but exposed mountainous ridge when we spotted the slender, solitary cat walking down the hill. We were fortunate with our timing and got to watch her attempt a hunt on a nearby nyala herd. She did not make a successful hunt that time, but the swirling wind and weather conditions were in her favour that day, and I’m sure she would have had a full belly by the end of that day.
