Returning repeatedly to a location and composition one knows well but where you have yet to capture a proper image can have its rewards. Despite diving-bombing and screeching seagulls, a tripod and camera perched precariously on a rocky outcrop and knowing that The Island would soon be plunged into darkness, I was presented with the most spectacular blue hour light. A wild sea and huge swells smashing into this outcrop of rocks begged for a long exposure. The 45 minute hike back to the car was a hugely satisfying one.
