I always enjoy the challenge of trying to capture nocturnal orb-weaving spiders in their webs at night, while they are busy protecting us from peskies like mosquitoes, Breezes often move the web about, making it very challenging with the shallow depth of field one has to work with, with macro photography. Also, getting close without spooking them, pulling in their legs is another challenge in itself. This photo of a Hairy Field Spider in her web at night is one of my favourite captures I have managed so far. A black & white edit of this photo seemed fitting with their nocturnal nature.
